In the World of Warcraft universe, and massive multi player online role playing game, the Worgen race are a race of werewolves from a country known as Gilneas. In the World of Warcraft lore, the people of Gilneas were once friendly with the group of kingdoms known as the Alliance. After many years of cooperation though the kingdom of Gilneas decided they had had enough of cooperation, and decided to seclude their country behind a massive wall that would allow no visitors through. Secluded in their own region the kingdom of Gilneas thought they could rule their own lands with out any interference from other kingdoms. This seclusion ended up becoming their doom however, as the kingdom of Gilneas was infected with a massive pandemic. The Worgen curse infiltrated their once peaceful kingdom and ravaged the land, people, and wild creatures now secluded behind the wall. With no chance to break out of the prison the people of Gilneas caged themselves in, they fled to the far corners of their lands hoping to avoid the curse and manage to survive another day. In the new expansion for the World of Warcraft MMORPG, which is known as WoW Cataclysm, this is the current state of the kingdom of Gilneas. Terror has gripped the countryside and feral creatures now infected by the curse roam the countryside. As a citizen of Gilneas the player character will be able to now step into the shoes of a Worgen and do battle to save their country and themselves from this terrible fate. The introduction to Cataclysm will explain how the Greymane wall that had once secluded the nation of Gilneas has been destroyed, and now the evil faction known as the Forsaken plan on overthrowing this crippled nation. The nation of Gilneas and the playable Worgen characters have re-established their ties with their old friends in the Alliance and will help in battling the Horde to save their own nation and lives.

Even in the original World of Warcraft and its expansions, players could encounter the Worgen race early in their adventures especially when playing as the Horde faction and primarily as the Forsaken. The area known as Silverpine Forest is a low level area meant for players between levels 10-20, and in one of the more remote areas of this region the Greymane Wall can be found which isolates the kingdom of Gilneas. In this area many low level Worgen can be found as enemies to battle. There is also a large castle that had once belonged to Baron Silverlaine and served as his mansion that is known as Shadowfang Keep. Shadowfang Keep is a low level instance dungeon that players can battle through for many great treasures for characters of their level. There are many Cataclysm quests in the Silverpine Forest that deal with the Worgen and their curse that all culminate with a storming of Shadowfang Keep and the destruction of the Archmage Arugal who is using the Worgen curse to further his own agenda. Arugal is the source of many great drops especially for mage oriented players who will grow considerably more powerful by equipping Arugal’s magical equipment. Destroying Arugal however, is no easy task. This one of the first opportunities for players to take on an instanced dungeon which is where the best loot is found in the World of Warcraft MMORPG.

When the World of Warcraft Cataclysm releases players will be able to create a Worgen character and build them into the most powerful hero the world has ever seen. Currently, the Worgen race will be able to play as many different classes such as the Death Knight, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, Warrior, Druid, and Hunter. These classes will offer the Worgen many grouping options while starting out their careers until they reach the zones where players of the other Alliance factions also appear. The Worgen will also have the option of appearing in their human form as well as their Worgen form when traveling the countryside and checking out the local towns and other non combat areas. As soon as the player enters combat however, they will revert to their original Worgen form. Like the other races in World of Warcraft, the Worgen will have their own specific racial traits as well. The Darkflight ability will increase the player’s movement speed by 70% for 6 seconds, the Viciousness trait will increase all damage done by the player by 1%, the Aberration trait will reduce the duration that all curses and diseases effect you by 15%, and the Flayer trait will improve your skinning skill by 15 points, reduce the time it takes you to skin an animal, and will no longer require you to carry a skinning knife with you. These racial trait bonuses have been looked upon favorably by the World of Warcraft player base as it was previously thought that the Horde faction had much better racial bonuses than the Alliance faction. The Worgen race and racial bonuses seem to have evened the playing field at least a little closer.

The Goblins love to work with mechanics, they are also interested in trade and commerce and they love to bargain for everything they wish to possess. Technology plays a very important role in their lives and they like to make an impact on these issues specially when related to the world of magic they live on. Although they like to construct and expand their knowledge on new technology, they are not considered very focus and this lack of focus does not allow them to go very far in their experiments and new creations.

After the first war, they were able to trade gold and other products and by the end of the Second war, they were able to become the traders of the worlds. Prince Steam wheedles was one of the first to come to the Goblins for trading gold during that period. After the World of War Craft came the Cataclysm expansion, which reawakened a volcano in the home island of the Goblins.

They needed to get out of the island in order to save themselves and the trade price realized that this could be a very good opportunity for him to earn good money transporting hopeless Goblins from their home land in his ships. His plan was unique. He was not only taking their lifesavings with him, he was also making sure that they could be sold as slaves in the nearby islands and that would make him a very rich and powerful prince, however, this did not work very well and finally there were many battles with the Hordes in the sea and many Goblins ended up in the Lost Isles of Kalimdoor, were they had to again face many mysteries and magical surprises.

Technology and the Goblins

It is amazing to see the amount of technology the Goblins have been able to invent. They are considered extremely intelligent when it comes to weapons and explosives, however, they have also managed to create some very intricate airships and although some do complain that some of these malfunction and explode, the basic results are quite incredible. They consider themselves the rules of the world, although they do understand that their size and body features may not be helping them to achieve this title.
